Lincoln Turns 4

Because of Jennicas wedding we decited to delay Lincoln's birthday for a couple of weeks, I thought that we are just going to do something really low key, no big deal just have friends over and slip and slide and just play. WHY!!! I am so dumb anytime you invite 12 four year olds it's NOT low key, but I think the birthday boy had a lot of fun, and that's why we do these crazy things right. Let me tell you some of the AMAZING things about Lincoln and then I will post all the craziness.
Lincoln is 42lbs and 42" tall, funny huh.
He has amazing eyes and eyelashes, he has sandy blond hair and the cutest little face I have ever seen! Lincoln is SO nice he is everything I want a little boy to be. Lincoln has told us that when he grows up he wants to be a "Chefer", ie a Chef. He is kinda crazy at times but he has the most tender little heart. Sometimes when we are leaving a store I will tell Kembree that I am going to leave her (because she NEVER listens) and Lincoln will get all sad and say, "Kembree come on, hurry please", like I would actually leave her but it is way more traumatic to him than it is to her. Lincoln Loves his little sister so much, I watch him with her and he is so kind and loving to her, he teases her plenty but that's what big brothers do. We feel truly lucky to have Lincoln as our first and as the best big brother. We love him stinking much!

All for me

So here it is the first time that I am posting where this blog is all about me and my kids. Who are super crazy by the way. So first item of business, we got a building lot. I guess this is the road that we are going to go down. When we first saw the lot we both knew it was different and we were super excited right from the start. We took Loye Ann and Frosty to see it and one of the neighbors came out and talked to us and told us how awesome the street is and how there are little kids everywhere, which we are so excited about. We really wanted a neighborhood that has alot of kids and families, but not ones where everyone is our age we wanted a little diversity, I hope that this is the place.
Now we need to find some house plans, Scott and Carrie Neil offered to help us design a house, so that means that our home will be 100% custom, are we ready for that? I guess we are very specific in our needs and so maybe this is the best way to go. I am excited for the challenges and the excitement that we will have over the next couple of months. I guess we will see how it goes, jumping in with both feet!
oh and PS Randy and I are going to Alaska at the end of the month, why? Because we can!

So here it is

The last little while I have been thinking about what I want of this blog and like most people, I want it to be a journal of our happenings and funny things about my kids. However I have noticed that I am not doing that, but the reasons that I haven't are not because I am lazy or don't have enough time, it's that I feel like it is way to personal of information to have on the web. So I am making this blog private, as in for my eyes only. I think that I will be able to have a more honest accurate journal for my family, and that is what this is about right? So if you want to know whats going on with me and my fam, give me a call I'd love to hang out with you!

Here we are again

So I will not bore you with all my totally reasonable excuses as to why I have not blogged, I'm going to just jump right on in and fill your Burr cup up!
This year has been kinda crazy. We got an offer on our home in February and about 3 weeks later the buyers no longer qualified for a loan, that was a HUGE disappointment. However about a month later we got another offer on our home, a better offer, so all of April I was a HUGE stress case hoping it would all work out. It did and now we are officially homeless and living with my parents. It is not as bad as you all think, I have 2, yes 2 live in babysitters. They have a hot tub, a nice yard and deck for my monsters to play on and they live in one of the best neighborhoods around. Don't be to fooled we are actively looking for a new home and a bigger mortgage!
Bree is a almost 2 and she is a little monster! I just have to keep saying "it's just a phase, it's just a phase". She is however the funniest girl in the world, I think she has a bigger vocabulary than Lincoln!
Lincoln is so big he just finished his first year of Preschool and can write his name all by himself, our goal for this summer is his bike, we will see how it goes!
Adios!

It's all in the Family

I'd like to think that I am this super creative person, but I'm not. I think I make three things exceptionally well, a Bree, a Lincoln and crab and cheese won tons. I could show you how to do the won tons but the other would make for a slightly racy blog!
I do however have an extremely talented family. My mother, as we all know, is a quilter extraordinaire. I also have some cousins that could go to any store and replicate what they see for cheaper and cuter then what it is at the store. So naturally I am super jealous of all these super crafty people. Don't get me wrong I love to get my craft on but I just don't have the time or follow through. One of my cousins married a very talented girl and she is the author of LOVE ACTUALLY, so cute if you need some ideas go there it will not disappoint. So today she linked to Maggie's Dinner Dates, not going to lie I am in LOVE with this new blog. So go check it out and invite me over for your themed dinner. I'd invite you, but like I said no follow though!

My Prize

Sometimes I am a bad mom and her hair looks like this:

But when I am a good mom and spray her hair and brush it it looks like this:

It's my compensation prize for marring a bald man.

Habby Birthday Baby Girl!

What a difference a year makes!

I guess it's typical to feel like this last year has flew by, but it makes me sad all the same. My little girl is now a toddler, she toddles, no walking just toddling. She had been the best little girl, she has so much personality (we might be in trouble) but she is so sweet and loving. She loves it when you tell her how beautiful she is, we tell her ALL the time. She loves Lincoln SO much. They are the cutest little besties.
So for her first birthday we had a whole day of fun planned out. We went to the Gateway Mall to get her ears pierced, the to lunch and then to Build-a-Bear (we were going to do the fountain but we ran out of time), then we had her party at the park with family and friends.
I was super nervous for her to pierce her ears, but I was worried for no reason all she did was flinch, no crying nothing just a flinch. I love the before and after pictures, she is so scared in the before but she was loving it after! She is totally a girly girl!

Before

After

We love our little Bree so much, she is so fun to have, SO......

Happy Birthday Kemmie Bear!

The First of Many

We had a couple of "firsts" in our house this last week or so. Our first black eye not on my little boy but my sweet little princess. Bree fell off the couch at a friends house and she hit a toy or something, and she just bawled and bawled but the next morning she looked like this. She just might end up being a handful!
Last night we were at a BBQ and our friends house(not the same as Bree's but close.....hmmm maybe we need new friends ;)) and all the kids were playing really well they were jumping on the tramp and riding bikes and going down a Little Tykes Baby slide, and that is what Lincoln jumped off and broke his arm. I don't know how it happened because I had my back to him, like any good mother would. We went to the dr. office and they put it into a splint then we went to the hospital and had it x-rayed. He was such a good boy when we had to turn his arm in all the painful positions for the x-ray he would cry for a sec then talk to me about what happened,"I got my arm hurt" and "Nica kicked the slide" thank goodness we had Nica there to save the day! He kept saying "my arms alive, see mom" then he would wiggle his other hand, then he would ask "my arm dead mommy?" it was so funny! so now we just wait for the hard cast and a super awesome summer!
By the way I have NEVER broken a bone, and I don't think Randy has a bone left that HASN'T been broken. Just another sign that the only thing I gave my kids was the womb.

Beware of Pirates

Lincoln had his first friend party. It was so cute and so fun. We had them come in and we dressed them up as pirates, with a sword, patch and tattoo. Then we played "pin the hook on the Captain". Hayley was so cute and drew a Captain for him. We had a pinata, treasure hunt, walk the plank, cake and presents. I think the kids had a ball and Lincoln was in heaven having all his friends over to his house!

Holy Cow~

My little boy is 3! Today is the day that he has been waiting for. I hope it's a good birthday for him. Today's activities will consist of a movie with some friends, and family (we're going to UP)
lunch of his choice and his favorite dinner, I'm not sure what that is yet so it will be interesting to find out! Then we are having a little family party with presents and cake! Now in true blog fashion I am going to brag to all of you why I think Lincoln in the best 3 year old in the whole world!
1. He is SO SO sweet. He gives EVERYBODY hugs. He is especially sweet to his little sister, the only time he is not so nice is when I have to wake him up from a nap, however, if Bree wakes him up he is SO happy! I love this about him. Along with sweet is how much he LOVES his family. Not just me Randy and Bree, but all his cousins and his Nica and Moldy. He gets so excited to see anyone of them/us.
One day after watching Tarzan he came up to me and said "best friends mom", I said "Yha we're best friends", then he puts his hand up like to give me 5, and said "No, best friends like Tarzan" so I put my hand palm to palm with his and he laughed and ran away. SO CUTE!
Right after we had him Randy and I were talking about the kind of man we wanted him to be and one of the big things is that I want him to be nice and compassionate, just like Randy. So far so good!
Now he's not so sweet 100% of the time and who knows if he will always be like this, but this is the #1 thing I love about my little boy!
2. He is helpful, he gets things for me when I ask.
3. He LOVES LOVES LOVES his "Mogercycle" aka his bike. My dad got one of those cool bikes that doesn't have any pedals, it is supposed to help kids learn how to balance, so they are supposed to go from this right onto a normal bike. Well Lincoln is really good on it he will push is feet then coast for 30sec. So we got him a "real" bike and we are going to test it out and see if it works! Hopefully he will be riding a 2wheeler by the end of the week!
4. He loves puzzles. He is so good at puzzles it is kind of awesome to watch.
5. He answers to "Babe". I was calling for Randy and he answered :)
6. When I tuck him into bed he asks me to "talka me mommy". So I will go and lay next to him and we talk about his day and what we are doing tomorrow.
7. He totally rocks in his tumbling class!
There are SO many things I love about my little baby boy, and I can't imagine a better way to start out our family. My kids have the BEST BIG BROTHER! Love you Lincoln
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBAS!

9 months

So here it the 9 month post. I have been so bad about posting about my little Bree bug, second child syndrome, what are going do to? First off she is an ANGEL sent straight from heaven. She sleeps like a dream she started sleeping through the night at 3 weeks, like 10-7, but now she's a 7-7 girl, boo ya! She has two bottom teeth and 1/2 of a top tooth. She sits, she totally skipped rolling and she's like half a push away from crawling. She has never been crazy fussy, sometimes when we are hanging out with people and she starts to whine they say "wow that is the fussiest I have ever hared her"!
She LOVE LOVES LOVES her family, it's a toss up who she likes more me, Randy or Lincoln. Lincoln will go and crawl into her bed after her nap and the two of them just giggle and laugh. She is as squishy as she looks, at 20 lbs. she better be! Her arms and legs are so soft and just so fun to squeeze! CURLS! Need I say more.
This little girl is my dream baby I LOVE HER!

Never Forgotten

It's funny how things stick in your mind, like what my typing partner said to me, and how I felt the moment my Mom told me that there was a shooting in my high school.

I grew up on Littleton Colorado. I loved it there I had friends and it was all I knew I had never moved, until I was 16. Then on August 15, 1998, my parents moved us to Utah. Nine months later was April 20, 1999. I got paged to the office about 45min before school let out, it was a rainy gloomy day. I knew it was something big because I saw my older brother getting check out too. As we were walking to the car, my mom told us what had happened. We had SO many questions, so we went up to my aunts house and turned on the news and just watched, that's all we could do was watch. We tried to call everyone we could think of to make sure that our friends were all safe and not apart of that ever looming number. Thankfully none of them were. I think I just stared at the TV for hours I slept on the couch that night, sick and tired of them running the same images over and over again.

As we were driving to school the next day Kyle said to me, just be thankful that we are safe and that none of our friends were killed or hurt. I was thankful, and sill am.

I was able to go back and attend a few memorial services and the funeral of Rachel Scott. She was an amazing girl and I will always remember the few memories that I have with her. I was there when they re-opened the school for the first day of my senior year. Every year around this time I get homesick, I want to go back, Colorado will ALWAYS be my home.

The one thing that I have learned through all of this is how much my Savior loves me, and how faith is built through trials. When I went back I cannot tell you how much love there was, I was amazed at how people pulled together and showed their love and support, for everyone. What happened at Columbine was the worst thing that I could think of. But I know that it has brought good to people. Please go and check out Rachel's Challenge, it is Rachel Scott and her story she challenges us all to be better people through kindness and compassion. I think this is one small way that we can all learn from this tragedy. WE ARE.

Oh the places they poop....

The park, Grandma's houses, Chuck-e-cheese. This wouldn't be so bad except he isn't wearing a diaper anymore! That's right for my first real test into motherhood I think I get a D-! Potty Training SUCKS. I wish I would have realized how bad it really does suck then I would have waited until he was, oh I don't know, 16. However that means that I have been stuck inside my house for the last month, you would think that I would have found 5 min to blog, but no this was on the bottom of the totem pole. I have however done other projects, I made Bree some stinking cute dresses and homemade baby food. I blew it with Lincoln, he got Gerber food, maybe thats whats wrong with him, but not with Bree she is my little princess, so no store bought food for her. She gets all the organic hormone free stuff. YHA RIGHT! I am not waisting my money on "organic" it's regular ol' produce for her.
I have made her squash...ok my mom made that, but I did sweet potato's, broccoli and oatmeal, next up is cauliflower and carrots, YUM. I have only given her a few foods, she has had the squash and some apple sauce and she did really well do I thought I would giver her scrambled eggs, she is 9 months and I read in a book that it was ok, NOT OK. She threw up twice and got a HUGE rash all over her little chubby body, so it looks like no eggs until she's 18months then we can try again, stupid book. I did turn 27 this last month and wow it is a different world to be in your "late 20's" I hate it, I want to be 25 forever. So to fix my sagging late 20's buttocks Randy got me this... LOVE HIM. But now this means no more excuses, so next time you see me give my huge buttocks a poke and see if I have really been using it, cuz if you ask I will naturally say "well yha" so that is the real test.
And now some cute pics because I just can't resist.
Look how beautiful my little babies are. I could just eat them up!

Dinseyland

I never understood why people like Disneyland so much, I kinda thought they were a little weird, until I went as an adult...IT ROCKS! I loved it we had so much fun and my kids now have that "sparkle" in their eyes! Lincoln was the BEST he ran everywhere we went his favorite ride was hands down MONSTERS INC. I think he went on it 10 times. He got to see Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Lighting and Mater, Mr. Incredible (not Randy the character) it was a blast. We had tons of fun with Landon, Colter and Oaklee. I could go on for hours but instead I will just make you look at cute pictures of my kids.
